What software is recommended for document imaging and management?
It is not possible to offer a recommendation for a document imaging software
without having made complete assessment of your offices needs.
We would be glad to come over and have discussion with you on your office
requirements and subscribe a suitable solution. Nonetheless, our R&D team have
assessed dozens of software in this area, considering factors including costs,
capabilities, scalability, etc. Out of these we have come up with about a dozen
suitable software solutions that cover virtually all the different industries be it
banking, insurance, advertising, engineering, government departments etc.
Some of these software are mentioned on our web-site under document imaging.
What is digital asset management?
Digital asset management is the management of all forms found in the creative,
printing and communications industries. These include photographs, sound and
movie files, text documents, illustrations etc. Among our software we deal in is
Cumulus that is the worlds leading digital asset management software.
How does document imaging compare with microfilming?
Microfilming is no longer a current method of archiving. Unlike microfilming,
electronic imaging allows for retrieval of file sin minutes, sharing of files on CD,
E-mail or over a network; no erosion of storage media, improved
security of access, etc.
Does Gath Management deal in industry-specific CAD software?
Gath Management supplies a very wide variety of industry-specific software for
virtually all-technical areas including mechanical, electrical, civil and structural
engineering design, Computer Aided Manufacturing etc.
Some of these software may be found in the section on CAD software.
You may contact us for more details at info@gathkenya.com
Where can I find cheap CAD software?
Gath Management offers AutoCAD LT. This is the 2D version of
AutoCAD. Unlike AutoCAD 2000, AutoCAD LT allows you to produce only
2D drawings but with the same powerful 2D capabilities of AutoCAD 2000.
Indeed most engineering installations carry out their work in 2D and AutoCAD LT
would thus be more that sufficient. The price of this software is less than a
quarter that of the full version of AutoCAD.
Do you sell computers?
Yes. We sell computers and computer peripherals.
Does Gath Management offer engineering services?
Gath Management has a team of civil, mechanical and electrical engineers who
assist our clients engineering design services. We are also affiliated to Gath
Consulting Engineers, one of Kenya's largest civil and structural consultancies.
Who needs GIS?
GIS is for everyone. Applications of GIs have grown from simple mapping to
complex analyses in many fields of specialization. GIS therefore can be
applicable to Engineers, Surveyors, Cartographers, Environmentalists, Planners
and any other persons who deal with spatially referenced data.
What are some of the areas of GIs application?
The list grows day by day. The areas of application are only limited by ones
imagination. Such include transport planning, Health, Natural resource
management, Suitability mapping, Hydrological applications, biological applications,
civil engineering applications, marketing, military, cartography and the list
is endless.
What GIs software is suitable for me?
There are several GIs software in the market all having different capabilities.
Simply put, the software operations can be outlined as data entry and editing,
analysis, symbolizing and output. One also has to consider whether they need to
work in a raster or vector environment.
Finally is the issue of the cost of the software and the ease with which one can
learn how to use it. Some of the GIS software that Gath recommends (and offers)
are Autodesk Map and ArcView GIS.
