Laserfiche Plus enables you to publish your repository or part of your repository for archiving or for distribution. Publishing can be done directly to a CD, DVD, or other removable media, as well as to a folder on your hard drive.

Overview

Once a repository has been published via Laserfiche Plus, its contents can be browsed, searched, opened, exported, or printed directly from the built-in, read-only viewer. A Plus repository can be distributed to make documents, the repository structure, and metadata accessible outside of the organization’s network. It can also be used as a viewable independent archive and a quick backup solution, because it can be re-attached to a repository.

Get Information to the People Who Need It

The Plus Publisher is installed with the Laserfiche thick client, and users can publish directly from within the thick client with the click of a button. Plus walks you through the process, allowing you to determine what documents you want to publish, where you want to publish them to, and whether you want to encrypt or compress your published repository. The final repository contains the documents and folders you chose, complete with their metadata, in one distributable or archiveable package.

Laserfiche Plus Workflow

  1. User tells Plus to publish folder(s), volumes, or search
  2. Plus shares Client connection to source repository and retrieves the files as a briefcase.
  3. Plus starts its publishing engine and creates a new repository.
  4. Plus imports the briefcase into the new repository and indexes the files.
  5. Plus disconnects from the new repository, detaches the database, and copies all of the files to the published location along with the Plus Viewer.

  • Select documents to publish individually or by folder, by volume, or as a set of search results.
  • Store the published repository by burning it directly to CD or DVD, by creating a distributable ISO file, or by publishing to a folder on your network or on a USB device.
  • Choose to encrypt your published repository for added security, or compress it to take up less space.

Viewer

  • Distribute your published repository with a built-in read-only version of the Laserfiche Client.

  • Encrypted repositories can only be opened by a user who provides the password that you set.
  • Users can search for documents in the published repository just as they would in your full-featured Client.
